The questions families actually ask, answered without the marketing. If something here is unclear, that is our problem to fix, not yours to decode.
Getting started
How does our family join?
The online pilot is by invitation. Sign in with your Wise Sparks account or follow your family invitation. Parents can request an account. A Wise Sparks administrator reviews each request personally, unless it carries a valid invite code, which approves it at once. An approved parent can then add their own child, from grade 3 to grade 12, from inside their account. A parent connection must be approved for the named child; choosing the same school does not grant access.
Where does my child start?
During welcome, choose the student’s grade and classes. Younger students can complete the steps with a caregiver. Activities follow those selections; schedules and the organizer appear from grade 6. Grade choices personalize practice; they are not an assessment of ability.
Do we need a school report?
No. Students can practice using their selected grade and classes. Reviewed report histories appear only where they have been connected and access is permitted. A school selection does not import reports, and new student accounts cannot upload school reports yet.
How do Spark tickets work?
Tickets come from saving eligible practice that meets every check, for example a mission with all three steps right or a game round with every puzzle right. A missed answer earns no ticket for that attempt, but a new attempt can; replaying the same saved completion does not earn another. Visits and caring for a companion do not earn tickets. Writing checks are limited practice estimates. Tickets buy optional extras, not access to lessons, and are not school grades or proof of mastery.
What does the study helper do?
The prepared helper offers hints, explanations and practice for supported topics. It can misunderstand a question or give unhelpful guidance. Separate AI features are a restricted pilot with their own access controls and AI use notice. Help & ideas sends confusing guidance to the team for review.
Signing in, and getting back in
What if we forget the password?
If you saved a recovery key from your profile, use it on the reset page and choose a new password. If you did not, this is the honest answer: nobody can recover the key for you, because we never stored it. Ask us to reset the account and an administrator will. A name, a school or a family connection alone is never enough to reset a password.
What is a recovery key, and who holds it?
A one-time code you create in your own profile. You see it once. We keep only a scrambled fingerprint of it, never the code, so it cannot be looked up, emailed to you or read by anyone here. It stops working the moment the password changes, and using it uses it up, so make another afterwards. Keep it somewhere private, like a password manager.
Your child’s information
Who can see my child’s work?
The learner, always. An adult sees it only after a connection has been asked for and accepted, and that access is recorded with the scope it was given. Sharing a school does not grant it. Disconnecting takes effect immediately, and the disconnection is recorded rather than erased.
Is AI reading my child’s work?
Only when someone asks, and only on an account that has AI help. Sparki’s clues in every activity are written in advance by people. AI help depends on the access each account is given and on switches the Wise Sparks team controls, and a parent can turn the AI tutor off for their own child. When a learner asks the AI tutor, an AI service reads the question with their name and school taken out, then picks one of the teaching moves we wrote, so your child only reads our words. When a parent asks Sparki for families, an AI service reads the question and picks a prepared explanation, and the saved records stay with Wise Sparks. An authorized adult can also have an uploaded school report read, which sends the whole report, including the name and school printed on it. The AI use notice explains what each helper receives and where it runs.
Can we delete everything?
Not yet, and we would rather say so. You can remove a report you uploaded, and disconnecting an adult ends their view immediately. But Wise Sparks cannot yet delete a learner account and everything attached to it. Closing an account stops sign-in and keeps the records. The database keeps automatic backups for 14 days, and your information stays in those backups until they expire.
Does finishing practice mean my child has learned it?
No. Finishing practice means practice happened, and we will not describe it as mastery. Official school results keep their own scales and are never blended with practice, and a practice score is never shown as a test score. Where there is not enough evidence yet, Wise Sparks says so instead of inventing progress.
